Ronn Motor Company’s HFI Scorpion Ronn Motor Company located in Horseshoe Bay, Texas West of Austin revealed their HFI sports car, the Scorpion. The Scorpion has a 3.5 liter six cylinder Vtech Acura engine with two twin turbos. It has a "hydrogen on demand" system from Hydro Runner, which is the source of the increased gas mileage and low emissions. The Scorpion’s engine is connected to its 20” forged Modena wheels by a limited slip 6-speed manual transmission and a lightweight flywheel and clutch.  It has a hand built carbon fiber body manufactured by MetalCrafters, Inc out of California with a final weight of about 2,100 pounds. With 450 horses sitting behind its two Recaro Trend custom seats, this baby is ready to perform! When you push the pedal to the floor the Scorpion will go from 0-to-60 in 3.5 seconds.  The hydrogen boosts the Scorpion’s mileage an impressive to 40 mpg. Orders for the Scorpion are already coming in and Ronn Motor Company plan to start producing the Scorpion in the fall of 2008, with a goal of 200 Scorpion produced by years end.  They hope to produce 500 cars in 2009 and at $150,000 each that would be $75,000,000.00 net sales for the first full year of production. My hat is off to this Texas based company for taking, power, beauty and speed and rolling it up into an environmentally friendly car. Their sports car gets better gas mileage than my daughter’s little economy car that struggles to reach highway speeds fast enough to merge into traffic.  If I ever get a Scorpion, I doubt my daughter will be driving it!
